Virtualization Pioneers Who Helped Build the Cloud

From 2008 to today: Engineering infrastructure that matters. Before cloud computing became ubiquitous, N2 Servers recognized virtualization's potential not just for resource optimization, but for revolutionary high availability.

Building When the Cloud Was Young

In 2008, N2 Servers launched with a radical premise: virtualization should increase performance and uptime, not just pack more workloads onto hardware.

2008
N2 Servers Founded

Launched with redundant infrastructure philosophy. The "N2" represented our commitment - everything duplicated, nothing left to chance.

2008-2010
DNS Infrastructure

Built one of the era's most robust DNS hosting platforms with global distribution, instant consistency, and complex routing logic.

2010-2014
Live Migrations

Pioneered cross-region live migrations, moving running VMs between data centers without downtime - techniques that became industry standard.

Engineering at the Edge of Possibility

N2 Servers tackled challenges that others deemed impossible in 2008, setting new standards for infrastructure reliability.

Live Cross-Region Migrations

Moving running virtual machines between data centers without downtime required solving complex networking challenges our engineers pioneered.

DNS as Infrastructure

We didn't just host DNS, we reimagined it. Sub-millisecond response times, automatic failover, and geographic routing for true global availability.

Performance Through Virtualization

While competitors oversold resources, we proved properly configured Xen could improve performance through intelligent allocation and isolation.

Contributing to the Foundation

N2 Servers didn't just use open source. We helped build it.

Xen Project Maintainer

Our founder Keith Coleman served as maintainer of the Xen 3.4 stable branch and led the Xen 3.4.4 release, described as "one of the most reliable releases" in Xen's history. This work meant maintaining the stable branch that companies like AWS, Rackspace, and others relied upon for their production infrastructure.

"I wanted to thank Keith Coleman from N2 Servers... for maintaining the Xen 3.4 branch and leading this Xen.org release."
